He is selling advertising ala the Million Dollar homepage, for $0.20 per pixel. Looks like he has raised $740. Not too shabby. I was thinking about doing things to raise money on this site, and I still might, but that would be selling actual stuff like bumper stickers, t-shirts, etc.

Good for him... I hope he gets a bus.

Vintage VW Ads

My buddy over at SoupUp Magazine sent along a couple of vintage Volkswagen ads. The first one is from 1981 and is for the "not a VW Bus" Vanagon. Too many people, especially on Flickr, tag these as buses. They aren't. Buses stopped in 1979. However... this is still a cool ad so I posted it:

The second ad actually has a bus in it, along with a Squareback and a Beetle. I'm not sure of the date, but given that the Squareback stopped production in 1973, and the look of the bus, I'm going to go out on a limb and say this ad is from that year. Please correct me if I am wrong.
