I took a trip to Alaska to see the family and stumbled upon the mother load in Wasilla. I did see, but was unable to get pictures of, a late-model bus driving around Anchorage and a very unique late-model bay-window truck... at least I think. It was too far away to get a picture. My theory is that people think "hmmm... it would be cool if we drove our bus to" Fairbanks, Mt. McKinley (Denali), or some other northern destination along the Parks Hwy, only to discover that, in fact, it wasn't a good idea and they broke down. Just a theory.
Also, one of our most popular pictures is from a 2006 trip to Alaska in the winter (pictured below).
I drove by the spot where it was parked on this trip and was pleased to see that it was still there and still covered in snow. Presumably, when the snow melts they drive it around since it was in a different place than before.
