This is barely recognizable as a VW Bus, but I think it actually is. Its jacked up in the rear,... you know what? Its just jacked up altogether. This is weird, and I think the turtle guy is kind of creepy. Moving along...

Ben Lobaugh found this pic (below) on The Samba and posted it to his blog. It shows a vintage VW Bus Walk-through Panel Van "jacked up" on blocks in what appears to be a very unstable configuration. Yes, I know this is now a third-generation post (or more, depending upon where The Samba thread started) but, well... I thought it was cool and decided to post it. Its also a nice public service announcement.
Just to give some additional credit to Ben, he has a page talking about his various VW Bus projects that you should check out. See, this isn't a bot that yanked this from his site automagically...

Awesome... this guy spent $5k recently to get his 1976 Bay Window VW Bus updated and running and now wants to get his money back (or even make some money). I love it. Check out his Craiglist post and get your brand on a cool bus in the Bay Area. He says:
Sonoma County area, Santa Rosa, Windsor, Rohnert Park, Guerneville, Sebastopol, Petaluma, etc...I'll put the miles on for the right deal!!!
Here is his Craigslist ad: I want advertisement on my VW Bus
Just saw that the folks over at seevwtv.com put up a link to us. I hadn't been to their site before but when I checked it out, I saw what was a big part of the original vision for ILoveVWBuses.com. Check out the embedded video below of Vinnie talking about his 1961 Doublecab VW Bus Truck and definitely check out the rest of the VW TV site for great videos of people talking about their VWs (not just buses). You can follow them on Twitter too @vwtv (you can follow us too, @ilovevwbuses)

I'm really digging the new History Channel show American Pickers. While they haven't (yet; unless I missed it) drawn attention to it, there is a vintage VW Bus truck in some of the scenes back at the Antique Archeology headquarters. On the site for the business, I found this killer shot of the truck. There is also a thread on The Samba talking about it... sweet ride and a fun show.
I hope the show is a success and that they have enough recorded for the rest of the season.... I imagine at some point the family members at home watching Gramps sell an old sign for $50 that they flip for $3k will go after them; ironically with an antique pitchfork. I'd choose a different getaway vehicle than the VW if I were those guys, for sure!
Happy Birthday to my special lady friend BS! She actually does all of the work around here; finds articles to link to, takes pictures of buses in the wild, when I take the pictures she still gets them off the camera and sends them to me to upload to Flickr. Then she stays on me to actually post the pics and the stories. Without her, this site would be nothing... I'm the bottleneck here. If you like anything on ILoveVWBuses.com then you have her to thank!
Happy Birthday BS! I hope its the best one yet, and that they just get better and better. I love you.

Just found this cool site called meanbugs.com; not all bugs, but all things (vintage?) VW... some really rad pics, like the one pictured above. Check them out, even if you can't read German Swedish. (That's German, right? Nope, thanks to Jen in the comments, its Swedish.)
Yes please! This is really cool and if I see you with one of these at a coffee shop I will sit down and ask you to buy me a coffee.
Dude... help a brother out. He's got 5 bills set aside for a VW project and you know you aren't going to get more than that for that POS late model bay window sitting in your back yard. I know you paid $2500 for it but you screwed up... the market will not come back. You will not make your money back no matter what you tell your wife. Let this guy have it. C'mon, its good karma.
1967 Mexican Kombi Titled and Registered in Monterrey Mexico (All registration paper work) 1600cc Dual Port engine chromed out, 12v Electrical system. 3.88 Pinon gear, 3inch spindles. Brand new sunroof, brand new tires and front disc brakes. Perfect driver all that is needed is rear seats, rugs/mats and interior trim. This bus is located in Monterrey Mexico.
This thing looks slick. It says its a 1967, but doesn't it look, erm... plastic? It almost looks like a kit or something. Maybe that just means its in really good shape. Check it out and if its legit, that seems like a good(ish) price. Better than some of the similar rides you can buy in California for 2x that price, thats for sure!
